Krissy Moehling Geffel, PhD, MPH

Biography

Dr. Krissy Moehling Geffel is Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. She graduated with a PhD in Epidemiology and an MPH in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.   

She completed a HRSA NRSA T32 Postdoctoral fellowship in Primary Care at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Pediatrics, Pittsburgh, PA.  

Her research interests are: influenza epidemiology and immunology, building influenza and COVID vaccine confidence and addressing infectious disease disparities through community-based participatory research approaches including partnerships with faith-based leaders.   

In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking and adventuring with her husband and cheering for her step-children and their sports teams.
