Mark Meyer, MD

  • Assistant Professor, Division Chief, Family and Community Medicine, Director, Global Health Track

Biography

Dr. Mark Meyer has been interested in global health and health care to vulnerable populations his entire career as a physician. Prior to joining the faculty in 2011, he worked at nearby East Liberty Family Health Care Center, a faith-based federally qualified health center (FQHC). While still working there, Dr. Meyer helped develop the Global Health Track (GHT) with Dr. Randy Kolb.

When the work of the GHT began to grow and flourish, he decided to join the faculty to move the international medical education efforts forward. Dr. Meyer has a full-scope of practice still including OB, procedures, well-child/sick childcare, and home visits.

Dr. Meyer enjoys adventures, locally and globally, and looks for opportunities to enjoy them with his family. Amy, his wife, and two daughters, Anna and Eliza, are great companions on any adventure and often accompany Dad in travels and work. They all live on a small gentleman's "farm" only a few miles from Shadyside with an ever-changing assortment of animals and pets.
